We hope you had a chance to visit the Parade of Homes this year and tour Prodigy’s parade house! It’s always a pleasure to see all the stunning homes and the care that goes into building and staging them. Now that a couple of months have gone by, we thought it would be worth it to revisit this year’s home, spotlight some of its features, and give those of you who were unable to attend a chance to see it.
Elegant Design, Expertly Crafted
It was such an honor to win Best Workmanship for the fourth year in a row! Everyone on Team Prodigy works tirelessly to maintain our high standards of quality, and we’re thrilled that our hard work shows. Our master bathrooms always seem to be memorable, and this year was no exception; Best Master Suite was the other award we took home.
Our Builder’s Choice Award this year was “Contemporary Elegance,” which really describes the vibe we were going for. Last year, many who walked through the home dubbed it, “the Vegas house.” This year, we were aiming more for “New York penthouse,” and we like to think we nailed it.

The Floorplan
As an instrument, the viola is known for its rich, deep, and warm sound, which adds body and flavor to the orchestra. We think you’ll agree, then, that our Viola plan is aptly named. This elegant daylight basement home carries its 4,200 square feet with effortless grace. The main floor, where the master suite is located, flows openly for 2,220 square feet, before plunging down to a light-filled walk-out basement. Here, you will find three additional bedrooms and a spacious rec room. In total, this home includes 4 bedrooms, 2.75 bathrooms, and a 3-car garage.
Much like its namesake, the Viola lends all of its beauty and elegance to harmonize with your lifestyle, blending everything seamlessly rather than stealing the show, which is what makes it such an ideal family home. No wonder it’s one of our most popular plans!
The Viola is an extremely versatile plan. Click here to see the Viola kitchen in three very different styles!
We made a few minor adjustments to the plan for the Parade of Homes, including converting some of the basement’s ample unfinished storage into a theater room. If you want to find out more about the Viola plan and see more examples of what it looks like, please visit this page.
A Grand Statement
Standing near the entrance and greeting people as they came through, I saw more or less the same reactions again and again. This entryway did not struggle to wow people. It’s hard to know whether to look up or down. The ceiling features an absolutely beautiful treatment, from which hangs a chandelier that is opulent enough to draw eyes, yet streamlined enough to be modern. However, polished to reflection just beneath your feet is a stunning quartz floor. Not only is there an elegant simplicity to this shining white expanse, it’s also incredibly durable. Despite being white, this floor is also easy to keep clean, and it doesn’t show dust the way dark wood does.
Staged with furniture that amplifies the contemporary elegance vibe, this great room is absolutely stunning! Using the same flooring throughout the space makes it feel even larger than it already is, and it also reflects the natural light that is coming in from several different sources.
It’s hard to imagine a material that would be better suited to a waterfall countertop than black river granite (which was also featured in last year’s Parade kitchen). The pendant lights, with geometric black shades and dangling gold chains are elegant and modern. With the island making such a big statement, it was wise to keep the perimeter of the kitchen a little more understated. Black quartz blends with the sleek black cabinetry, while the stacked stone backsplash provides enough contrast without jumping out past the island.
The party continues downstairs, with a second living area. If you didn’t know this was a basement, you would never know it was a basement! That twelve-foot slider lets in a huge amount of natural light.
In the Parade of Homes, It’s All About the Details
There were a lot of smaller touches in the house that people really seemed to gravitate toward during the Parade of Homes. One of these can hardly be called small: larger-than-life paintings by local artist Chance Watt that graced the walls throughout the house. He very kindly allowed us to display them, and we even staged one of the bedrooms as an art studio.
The mudroom was another very popular feature. Using the same stone as the exterior unites the inside of the house with the outside. Doubling as wall-art, the coat rack was a big favorite with the people who came through, and you can actually grab one for yourself on Amazon. It echoes the shapes of the stone and perfectly matches the color of the wood. Overall, this textured, coordinated space is functional and beautiful!
This home also featured beautiful faux finishes behind the entertainment center shelving and on the master bedroom accent wall. But it was the powder bath that had the most exquisite walls. Gold and silver leaves peek through the plaster to create a look that is bold yet refined. The effect is of glamorous decay, and it is offset nicely by the sleek simplicity of the tile and countertop choices. The sink makes a statement without being flashy, and a mixture of gold hardware with chrome fixtures ties in both the gold and the silver.
