Absolutely! Every Prodigy home comes with a 2-10 Home Buyer's Warranty, which is this country's leading new-home warranty program. The 2-10 HBW ensures that your new home is protected inside and out.
Typically, it takes six to eight months to build the house after the permit. This will vary, of course, depending on the weather and any changes made that affect the completion date. For safety and liability reasons, you must schedule an appointment with an authorized representative to visit the construction site.
We prefer that you make an appointment for on-site visits. We post daily progress photos online, so you can follow the construction without needing to be on-site.

Payment is required at Change Order approval, but you may choose to finance these changes into your loan. Discuss this with your loan officer and real estate agent to ensure smooth closing. We will provide a price change addendum to update the sales price of your home.

We have been building homes happily for 25 years.
Before your appointment, review our floorplans and decide on the number of bedrooms, bathrooms, and the overall square footage you need. Also consider whether you have a lot or want to build in a specific area. Once you have a clear idea, contact our sales agents for assistance.
Submit your Warranty Request online. Our dedicated Warranty Manager will coordinate the necessary steps to address your concerns promptly.
Minor cracks are normal as concrete shrinks. Cracks exceeding 3/16" in width will be repaired within the first year. Refer to the 2-10 warranty manual (section 2.1).
Drywall cracks are common as the house settles. We address these one time at the end of the first year of coverage. Refer to the 2-10 warranty manual (section 7.2).
Cracks in grout or caulk are normal due to settling. We will repair these issues once near the end of the first year of coverage.
- Building one of our floor plans on our lot: We need a construction deposit and a pre-qualification letter from an accredited lender.
- Building on your own lot: We require a construction deposit. You have two options:
- Carry your own construction loan, or
- Quitclaim your lot as a deposit to Prodigy Homes, allowing us to secure financing for the build.
Your agent can work with our sales agent to gather information and communicate effectively throughout the building process.
It’s not mandatory to have your own agent, but Prodigy Homes partners with a dedicated sales/real estate agent for all projects.
If we provided final grading and landscaping, we will fill and correct settled areas once during the first year of coverage. Refer to the 2-10 warranty manual (section 1.1).
Minor changes can be accommodated. We handle Change Orders digitally: we post the details and pricing online for your approval.
We will refasten loose subflooring or take corrective action to reduce squeaks, though a completely squeak-free floor cannot be guaranteed. Refer to the 2-10 warranty manual (section 4.1).
The final walkthrough, or Buyer Orientation, allows both you and the builder to examine every room before closing. We also have YouTube videos explaining the process.
