Compare: The Tempo II Master Bath 3 Different Ways

Just how much room for variation is there in Prodigy’s standard floorplans? To show you, we’ve been doing a series that compares different versions of the same room from the same plan, demonstrating the astonishing variety that results. This week, we’re looking at three versions of the Tempo II master bath.

The Tempo II is a 2,788 sq. ft. rambler. One of its outstanding features is the layout of the master bathroom, which separates the two vanities with the tub. This means no one will bump elbows getting ready, and it also gives the tub center-stage, creating a stunning focal point, whatever your style. Let’s look at some examples.

Bold Elegance

In this transitional bathroom, a standard drop-in tub is used. The deck of black rectangular tiles creates a look that is classic yet bold. With such an eye-catching centerpiece, it was wise to go with lighter colors for the rest of the room. The cabinets are bright white shakers, with simple chrome hardware. The floors and backsplash are white marble, with the backsplash’s basketweave design adding texture. Finally, the glistening pendant lights act like jewelry for the vanities. What a gorgeous room!

Modern Simplicity

This no-fuss modern look is very different from the one we just saw. The simple lines of the cabinetry and the clean, simple tile definitely aid in creating this sophisticated look, but the sleek, freestanding tub is what really makes it stand out. Rather than pendants, as in the previous example, this bathroom is lit by vanity bar lights, adding to the streamlined aesthetic. But during the day, just like in the previous example, natural light streams in through the large window over the tub and the transoms over the vanities.

Our final example features another freestanding tub, this time with crisp, rectangular lines. The warm, neutral tones of the floor, walls, and vanities act to balance it, keeping it from appearing too stark. While the tub, faucet, and light fixtures give this bathroom plenty of glamour and drama, the overall feel is very calming. The neutral colors, clean lines, and inspired use of texture make this bathroom firmly transitional—and extremely stylish.
